Anyone need a car driven from CT to Jhb?

Postby RV4ker (RIP) » Tue Aug 05, 2008 3:28 pm

I was planning to go airways down to CT to get RV7 convex and then wanted to drive all the RC kit still clattering up my sisters garage back to Jhb (Volume shipping weight just makes ship too expensive). All car rental companies want HUGE 1 way fee     . Car rental will be in excess of R2000    without petrol, which is not worth it. Soooo

Anyone have a car in CT they want driven back to Jhb in next couple months. Pref a hatchback so I can load the wings without "breaking" them in half to fit...

Alternatively anyone know of car rental company which needs a car in Jhb from CT    or company offering unlimited kms with reasonable 1 way fee...

I have a little 1300 Citi Golf I have been meaning to send up to my youngest daughter. Unfortunatly it doesn't have power steering or aircon and is a 4-speed. I just want to send it in for a good service, radiator replacement etc before tackling a long trip like that. We can talk

     Just say the word. power steering, aircon & 4 speed etc don't bother me. I am driving 1982 Combi down to Plett next weekend... 13-15hrs drive time if the wind does not blow. If it does (80km/h)   ...

OK, just got to scrape some spare cash together to service her and then we can set a time. Fortunately she is very light on fuel and we can share costs or something

I happy to pay all fuel and should not take more than 3 days. (Need to spend night with my sister in CT (Dinner for months of storage) and a night with my mother in Bfn - Can't just drive past)

Can do any time after 1 Sept, but if possible between 1 and 9 sept. If not, not serious, just need to confirm availability of RV instructor and the plane...
