Dry Hangar Space required

Postby Gyronaut » Fri Aug 01, 2008 10:57 am

I am looking for new hangar space for my Gyro in the Cape Town area.

The machine requires about 2m width and the rotor is 10m long.
The only prerequisite is that the hangar must be dry inside. Current hangar gets very wet inside, sweats and coats the entire machine with a layer of moisture. Rust is wrecking the machine and it breaks my heart to see my baby deteriorate like this. I am currently paying R600 p.m. hangar rental for my Gyro and Trailer. Trailer can stand outside, its annodised (and cant fly so who cares).

Does anyone have space to let please? Morningstar would be ideal for me, then I can also become part of the Morningstar clan.

The lekker thing about a gyro, you can easily hanger with a fix wing, preferably a ML. I share with Big Mac , Thunderbird. Gyro stands parallel to fuselage, nose of gyro goes under the wing and the rotor over. Downside is I have to remove the Thunderbird in order to get the gyro out, but theTB so light, takes 30 seconds and save me R 250 pm.

Thanks Trikenut, I have been hangaring there for years and unfortunately hangar C10 is a bathtub in winter and Louis has nowhere else to put me.
He is the AP for my machine and I am very happy with his service, its simply the fact that my machine is deteriorating fast from the excessive moisture that is making me want to move.

I'd like to join the club if accepted. Where do I apply? How much are the Subs?
Heard you guys have a meeting on the last Wednesday of the month? Can I come?

Hi Len,

This is good news indeed. Glad you are sorted now.

On the club issues: Come to meeting at end of month, and you can just fill out membership form. Subs is R400 p a, but you will only pay pro rata for the year.

PS: If you are a good club member, you will spend more money on drinks, than on your yearly club fees.
