My vote is that they stay. I dont find them intrusive at all.
If we all click on them at least once a visit then surely the income will increase? Is that how it works?
If this pays towards keeping our favourite site then its a small price!

I agree with jetranger. They can stay. At least they serve a purpose.

I know it is unethical to misuse them, but as I understand we only get paid for the items that was clicked. So to confirm what jetranger said, we should all just click one, once a day, and this forum will be safe and "free" for us to use.

AS long as they minimise the financial burden then they should stay!

Looking back at why the site was moved from an international hoster in the first place - basically owing to the speed of international hosting - then with the increased latency owing to ad loading and the latency added ontop of that on hosting on an ADSL line, well I am afraid I have to ask why did we move in the first place. Have we really achieved anything. IMHO I dont think so. As always - no reflection on any individual - I do believe it has all been done with the correct motive and heart action - just don't believe we have moved forward. We have just increased our costs for no real benefit.

The site is still hosted in Cape Town, I don't find it much slower with the ads, the ad content loads slow but the forum still responds good.

Advert revenue for today up until now is $13.00 - this could potentially fund the current hosting fees.

Stay with the ads - the loading time is negligible and the revenue is real!

Stay with the adds

At the moment they are new so they feel intrusive in a weeks time we will be used to them'.

Speed seems the same (here in Dubai) and have not had any delays or waiting for new pages to pop up.

We should however not abandon our voluntary ncontributions to the site.

Now can someone PLEASE check with the Forum's Bank what the SWIFT code for the Forum's Bank is, without that SWIFT code I can do, nothing, niet, nada, okol, garnichts niks. :? :? :? :? :?

Kind regards

For me they should GO. They are in the way and making the pages more clogged than what they already are. I cant believe that with so many of us on this forum we cannot generate enough cash to fund the hosting etc. Surely if we all had to dontae a yearly sum we could easily cover these costs. Now this site looks just like every other internet selling site... :( :?
