Rotax 582 idle speed

Postby cjkrit » Fri Jul 11, 2008 9:10 pm

What is the correct idle speed for the Rotax 582? [blue top] Mine idles at 1800rpm, but a lot of vibration and shaking and cannot think it to be good for some of the components. How do I make sure that the 2 carbs are set the same? :?: :?:

The rotax operating manual states a idling speed of 2000 - 2200 rpm.

Just check the balancing of your carbs as well. 1800 is high and should not be vibrating so much!!

Nope...1800 is LOW.
On the Bing carbs the idling circuit essentially operates all the way up to about 3000 rpm.
Set it at around 2200 and she should be happy, but only if your carbs are balanced correctly.
