Trailing edge fluttering help!

Postby Cacofonix » Thu Apr 24, 2008 7:06 am

Hi everyone, My Aquilla 1 wings trailing edge flutters while flying. We have replaced the bungies and it still flutters only on the right side this is also there on take off. What can we do to repair this?

A temporary solution to tighten the trailing edge slightly is by putting a cable tie through the holes where the bungee cords are attached and just tighten them slightly , alternatively send the wing to Solo Wings for a nip and tuck, I had mine done last year and was very happy with the results.

Hi all....why not change the bungee cords for parachute cord.....look at the imported wings ie Aerossa and Aircreations....aswell as some of the local wings like the Raptor wing....Most use parachute cord or similar cord....Most of the Windlass and Aquilla trikes in the Eastern Cape have gone this route.....works like a dream and you don't have to replace the bungee cords every couple of years..Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS).
This also helps eliminate trailing edge flutter....
