Nee Bennie my Maatjie, it's just that David couldn't make it over the escarpment so he's grounded in Bethlehem & would love to be able to go and have a shower & freshen up somewhereBennie Vorster wrote:David don't tell me you need an emergency operation in Bethlehem.

& without a moment's hesitation Christo has kindly offered to go & help him

Thanks Christo

Yo Trix., you are a star....... delivered on time:):)...
Christo has already met me, and he and his wife have offered me dinner and a shower, and if I want, overnight accomodation...
Is'nt that great hey.......
Allways said "Flying around the country with a microlight is 'not about making deadlines, but about making friends'
On Monday I was stuck in Kimberley (burnt out fuel pump).... within 5 minutes of landing, I had a lock-up hangar, a choice of overnight accomodation, a free vehicle to use, and an appointment with Charles(a fellow microlighter) who came to my rescue. He worked with me on TUG for no less than 3 hours, sorting all the problems, for FREE!! I ended up taking Johan Jooste's offer of accomodation in his student accomodation attatched to his beautiful hangar....all 'gratis, free, haai-kona mali, luto emali'....and then another pilot, also Johan, drove me to his home and gave me the keys to a spare car, full tank of gas, and said "just leave the keys on the sunvisor, and we will collect it tomorrow".
How's zat. What a great bunch of guys at Kimberley.....
Anyway, as far as this post goes, problem in Bethlehem solved, subject closed.......
Cheers.
