The whole lot, new axels, rims, bearings, cylinders and 6 ply tyres probably weigh about a kilo more than the old system but these new axels are much better than the old ones, look a lot stronger.
The new brakes are not bedded in properly yet but braking action is better than the drums so far.
I think that retrofitting like this and useing the standard brake pedals does not get the most out of the system, but then I suppose brakes too sharp would not be ideal.

Old price from Boet was R5500 for the lot + post. Cheap if you consider what is included and compare to the similar Matco product available from Spruce.
Further report: Brakes bedding in nicely now, my new tyres have started creeping on the rims from practicing tail-up stoppies
My doing though as I lubed tyres, tubes and rims well with talcum powder and run the tyres at 1/2 bar. Will split rims and clean powder off tyre/rim area.

I reconfigured the old cable oprated drum brakes. It now keep the BB standing still with the engine running balls-to-the-walls. :D
Mogas, glad to hear you are happy with your brake set. All of it made right here in the "new' RSA. ( Proudly?) It is unfortunate that it sometimes does take long to get all the stuff together to make a COMLETE kit up. We are now looking at a hydraulic brake set, very similar, that can be fitted to the standard BB rims and axles. Price should come down. I will keep you posted. :D

Hallo Boet.
Responding to your 5th Nov posting.
Have you come up with the new system yet with the discs that fit the normal rim? We have BBO and would like to fit hydrolic Brakes.

Not enough space between pedals and fire wall for a retrofit.
If planned from new, we build a well into the firewall and fit under the pedals.
