Autolube or premix
Autolube or premix
I, for one, have got the autolube system stashed away where even my son- in-law cannot get hold of it. I am a firm believer in the advice rendered by the supplier/AP of my trike that the autolube is just one more introduction of a CRUCIAL function of your already vulnerable Rotax 582 that MIGHT put you down.
Failure of the autolube system is not uncommon.
Prove me wrong.

My opinion on the auto-lube,
I have been using auto-lube since1969,when the first Suzuki AS-50 motorbikes came out with it,then fo the past 20 years or so with outboard motors and currently have a 583 with same, and not once have i had problems with auto-lube.I have how-ever seen a good couple of bikes and outbaord motors seize due to guys forgetting to put oil in or forgetting what can it was that had the oil in! So ,as most prangs with oure micros and bliks are due to pilot error, i would say ,to use autolube does give us one less chance to "error".And to be honest, i cant see anything mechanicly that can go wrong with the autolube system.Well thats just my opinion,so dont take my word for it!!!!!!

I appreciate your views, guys, but we had a low hour trike totalled recently due to what appeared deficient lubrication on one cylinder, resulting in a shutdown over inhospitable area. Leprachaun is currently investigating and I'm confident that his findings will shed some light on this issue which has made some autolubers at our club fairly uncomfortable.
Please note that the causal assumption is purely based on visual inspection at this stage. The donkey is going for a postmortem, which may prove otherwise, hopefully.

And many more with glass fuel filters without an incident.............John Young wrote:Quack-Mate & Bac,Quack-Mate wrote:Keep it stashed away......far away :DBacardi wrote:I, for one, have got the autolube system stashed away....
WhyMany years ago, a couple of cranks went and the auto lube was "suspected".

Airspeed, altitude, or brains....you always need at least two
The trike was my buddy's and I am relieved to say that he escaped virtually unscathed owing to the fact that he is a highly experienced pilot, with a spare trike, and has the nasty tendency to put it down wherever there is a place spacious enough to take a leak without the thorn branches scratching his pi$$er

So, the autolube is "suspected" but it's ok to use it?John Young wrote:WhyMany years ago, a couple of cranks went and the auto lube was "suspected".
The glass filter is also "suspected" but it's NOT ok to use it?
You put your foot in it all by yourself :D
What was that about something missing?

Doesn't matter which one is missing.....you only need two :DNow, let's guess which one of the three is missing.
