Still stuck in Oman. Left for the airport yesterday only to find out that the runway and ILS are damaged and no flights in or out. Most of the city is with out power and many roads are damaged. As we stayed 35km SE of the airport in the mountains we closer to the airport now with some other scenery at least. Should there be any movement it is a 10min drive and we out of here.

The next problem is to get some groundcrew at the airport, it’s their Sunday today and the Sultan also announced that tomorrow will be a "holiday". We now staying at the Safari Hotel, now animals unfortunately but at least we got a place to bunk, as the hotels are obvious fully booked with people that are awaiting their flights.

There is a saying "nothing comes easy", we in Oman on business trip to provide their ATC Centre and Oman Air with training courseware for the training of ATCs and Pilots, and we hope that this saying will have some truth in it.

Anyway, should leave tonight at 23:45 to Abu Dhabi and then home tomorrow arrive at 08:20. Missing out on my traditional 5:00 wakeup call for a 06:30 take-off at Microland.

Below are some pics on the way to the airport yesterday.

We departed Oman 1 hour late at 01:45 this morning with a connecting flight at Abu Dhabi departing 02:25 (same airline)

Just when we thought all was plain sailing - we arrived in Abu Dhabi only to find out our connecting flight left for JHB 15min earlier  [0* I actually saw the aircraft taxi out when we arrived

The next flight was only Wednesday :x

Next option - taxi to Dubai a 2 hour drive and a flight with Emirates to JHB depated at 11:00 and arrived 16:30 back in JHB this afternoon =D*

The B777 has a camera facing downwards, next moment on the seat TV Monitor, Microland  on long finals for 21L

For those of you who are following my travels, I am still in Paris and tonoght they celecbrate the longest day with live music all around the city. I am going up to my regular place to listen to some jazz and eat seafood.

Weather has been great and I hope it holds on for the weekend.

What a great idea! All over the city there is live music and dancing with such a great vibe. There are families with small children right through to elderly people all enjoying the atmosphere and entertainment.

I ended up so far away from my hotel by just walking from one spot to another that I only got back in at 1:30am.

Last day of work for this week and then.........
