Thanks everyone! Lifelong dream come true!

Yip, Ians just couldn't help himself and had to spill the beans. :D
At about 06:45 on Saturday, July 30 went solo in ZU-CEF, a Windlass 503. I was expecting a couple of circuits before the BIG one but after the first landing ole B said 'drop me off here' and that was it. No time to get a case of nerves, line up and take-off. I must say the plane needed much less power to take-off and just about lands itself without the extra talking luggage! Did an hour solo after that and another Sunday morning. Beautiful conditions on both days, not a bump! :lol: :lol: :lol:
I wore a silly grin the rest of the weekend and had to buy a bottle of the old champs for the skydiving crowd who all want to be my friends now because they want to jump out of the trike! (I was wondering why they were being so wonderfully supportive! :? )

I believe that actually flying tail draggers is very demanding due to the heavy rudder work

Flying tail draggers isnt a big deal after a while your feet (or thumb) just starts doing it without your brain telling the feet what to do- X winds take offs and landings are a bit more tricky than training wheel planes.The trick is to fly them often so it becomes automatic and after a shortwhile you dont think about it anymore :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Also if you learn on TD's you won't know any different and not so long ago all were trained on them.... :wink:

JCVB you are so right the corect name for a tail dragger is a conventional geared aircraft-
We should be calling training wheel planes nose draggers and should think of TDs as normal :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
