Now thats a really nasty thing to say about the single ignition 503.
I've have many hours flying aircraft with the single ignition including the 277 rotax. Just like anything. If you maintain them they will give you trouble free service well past their sell by date. If you don't know what points and condenser are and what their function is then I can understand. But only to a point.

Nothing wrong with points and condensors. Will give you notice well in advance of
