Kitty Hawk Pictures & Next Microflight Magazine Prizes

Wow, what an awesome event. Everyone felt that we managed to maintain the trend of getting better every year.

~ Some 207 aircraft attended/were on display excluding the aircraft in the hangars at Kitty Hawk.

~ At one stage there was no ground space left for aircraft parking, the car parks were full and aircraft were being stacked down the taxiway.

~ Cheque books were emptied - planes bought - all kinds of wheels got bought - insurance polices signed up - etc etc

~ I have no idea of how many people attended but they stretched along the flight line for the entire length of the 800m runway.

~ In the various marquees there was not a table left to be had.

To all that attended THANK YOU.

Every supplier that I spoke to (I hope to all) was thrilled - Included were Triumph motor cycles, Ducati's, life insurance, aircraft tyres, media, lubricants, engines, aircraft artists, aviation print and gifts, game parks, avionics, aircraft of all types (WSM-CCM-LSA-PPL-models-parachutes etc), media, aircraft accessories, engraving, leather work and more.

THEMES

1. KITTY HAWK > Kitty Hawk Participation Thank You's to non aircraft suppliers.
-> if were at Kitty Hawk & you are a non aircraft supplier (eg Motor Bike, Media company, Avionics supplier etc) then you qualify for a "About Us" feature story - we do not accept adverts - tell us about your staff and their interests - tell us about some featured products - tell us if you want to enter our SPRING SPECIALS promotion - to participate in the spring specials tell us what the special is - it can have limits eg 1st 10 sold etc - the Spring promotion starts on 1 September and ends on 30 September.
-> if you were not at Kitty Hawk - we will list Spring Specials but only if they are aviation related.

2.AIRCRAFT SUPPLIERS > FREE 2 Pages per aircraft > Aircraft: WSM/CCM & LSA aircraft suppliers are invited to submit information on aircraft models that they supply. We feature aircraft for which we have acceptable quality content. Each model will be considered for a two page spread. The left hand side page will be one or more photos and the right hand side page will be details per an excel spreadsheet. e-Mail editor@misasa.org for a copy of the spreadsheet.

3. MEMBERS > ME & MY Plane. Aircraft owners are invited to submit content on themselves and on their aircraft. Suppliers are encouraged to get their customers to submit their profiles.

4. MEMBERS > ME & MY "man cave or pub" > Members are invited to submit content on their man caves or pubs.

5. FLY-AWAYS
Organisers are encouraged to submit content on fly-aways over the last year as well as fly-aways planned for the year ahead.

6. FLIGHT SCHOOL & AP'S
Members are invited to submit content for feature stories on their businesses.

7. PHOTOGRAPHERS - show us your best pictures
Portfolios of a minimum of 5 photos are called for. These may be from members or they may be from professional photographers. Photos must be aviation related - People - under the wing - planes etc

8. OTHER CONTENT
If you have a great idea about something, a good story etc that you think pilots would enjoy then please let us have your content

PRIZES
We are gathering prizes for membership content submissions - So far we have a week-end away, 3x R500 restaurant vouchers, jackets etc. Suppliers are invited to put up prizes that will be promoted to members to encourage submissions - On the pages featuring the prize winners content the prize, winners details and the prize sponsor's details will be printed at the foot of the page. Sponsor's may elect to select the winners if they so wish. Details of the prizes and of the sponsors will be featured on our website from 1 March and these details will be promoted by e-mail and other means - Facebook etc to members.

Thanks Misasa for a super time. The arrival overhead took the cake , just millions of aeries, bumped into so many blasts from the past, so nice to see Alec and Hester again. The heat was surpressed by afternoon thundershowers , just cooling everything down nicely. The flying conditions were perfect. Good vibes everywhere, one big happy family. Will be back next year. Misasa thank you for the hat and lakker T-Shirt!
