Hi fellow aviators,
Let me be the first to welcome you all to what we all hope will be yet another exciting and fun filled edition of the MISASA Showcase 2015.
This years theme
“Wings Wheels Water” will add another new dimension to what has been a great fun filled day in all our previous editions....
As always, it is a day that takes the form of a Fly In to the beautiful Kitty Hawk Aerodrome. (FAKT). The event is open to all Members of MISASA and the AeCSA and their invited guests. Suppliers to the aviation industry as well as those who cater to the water/wheels recreational world are given the opportunity to showcase their wares to YOU...the consumer and enthusiast.
With over 150 visiting aircraft of great variety expected you can be sure that there will a whole lot to see and do on the day. Please stay for the evenings entertainment and braai which has always proved to be an excellent atmosphere. Camping will be allowed and there are many nearby Guesthouses to cater for those who seek a little more "creature comfort".
Food and beverage will be available throughout the day and those wanting to stay over are welcome to do so. Details will follow below...
For the kiddies we will have a small play area with a jumping castle and a jungle gym.
Please make sure your children are supervised at all times folks.
Radio X (aka Noel Green and Co) will keep us entertained throughout the day from the clubhouse balcony with live interviews, special deals, music and more! Please contact Noel on if you wish to advertise your product via live streaming or audio direct to the crowd at FAKT. You can contact him for enquiries on 082 575 0707.
In the evening we have arranged a live act to keep us tapping our feet and filling our glasses late into the night.
Your hosts MISASA hope you will all have a great day!

Arrival by Vehicle:
Those driving in to FAKT on the Saturday are requested to park on the grass to the left of the road just past the entrance boom as you come into Kitty Hawk Airfield.
Parking Marshals will be on hand to assist you in this regard. We request that NO vehicles be parked up at the clubhouse due to space limitations.
If you are a vendor needing to set up a stall, please inform the marshal of this and you will be permitted to drive up to the display area to drop off your goods. Please note that you must upon completion return your vehicle to the parking area.
Likewise, if you have elderly, frail or disabled passengers, you are also welcome to ask the marshal to allow you to drop off your passengers up at the clubhouse, after which you can also return your vehicle to the parking area.
Arrival/Departure by Air:
FAKT Aerodrome details are available off their website:
http://www.fakt.co.za/
Important! In the interests of safety, and of course to give our members some valuable experience, the FAKT airspace on Saturday 7th Feb will be Controlled Airspace “Class D” and ATC will be in control for the whole day.
Please watch this thread and the other platforms for full NOTAM details to be posted by John Boucher as soon as it has become available to him.
Aircraft Parking arrangements:
Upon vacating the runway on arrival, the tower will request you to follow the Parking Marshal's to your designated area. Please be patient and considerate at all times and follow their instructions.
The above aerial view gives you a good idea of where you will be directed to.
Southern Parking area: Fixed Wing Aircraft
Clubhouse parking: Static Display Aircraft only
Northern Parking area: Trikes and Gyro's
Foxtrot Taxiway: Large Fixed wings and overflow parking (all types)
Grass alongside 19 threshold: Helipad (limited space)
The Ground Marshals will be dressed in Hi Vis vests and will be equipped with VHF radio and red flags. Under no circumstances will aircraft be permitted to taxi or start up amongst the public. Once the marshal has directed you as close as possible to your area you will be requested to shut down and then hand manoever your aircraft into your slot. There are always many hands nearby to assist should you need them. Upon departure, start up clearance must be requested through a Ground Marshal, who will clear your area and if necessary request the clearance for you from the tower.
At all times, make sure you obey both Marshal and ATC instructions.
Tie downs and wheel chocks are essential please. With the large volume of aircraft expected, as well as the minimal space between the taxi ways and parking areas, we ask that you please make the necessary precautions to secure your aircraft while they are unattended from any propwash/wind that may occur. Common sense applies...
Camping Arrangements:
Although the main event is on the Saturday, all visitors are welcome to arrive from the Friday and camp over at the airfield, departing Sunday. You may either erect a tent under your wing or at the designated Camping Area.
Running water and toilet facilities are available, however we
cannot at this stage confirm the availabllity of showers.
We are working hard to try and find a solution and will advise as soon as we have a final answer.
There will be two or three hangers available for pilots who wish to sleep there as well.
The restaurant will be open throughout the weekend to feed and hydrate you.
Alternatively you can make use of the many nearby Guest Houses nearby. (A full list will be published in a follow up posting)
Food and Beverage sales:
As was the case last year, Kitty Hawk Restaurant will be catering for the event. Please note that no cooler boxes will be allowed onto the premises.(With the exception of braai meat for the evening braai)
There will be light meals and snacks available on sale throughout the day, as well as all popular refreshments and alcoholic beverages.
Pilots staying for the evening will have a choice between:
Option 1: Braai Pack and bykos: (Cost to be advised)
