The good old days

Postby Air Hog » Sun Aug 25, 2013 5:01 pm

Earlier I had a post, talking about previous years, what the Saturday fly outs were like.
I found some pictures of a trip, maybe just to show what it was like.

Some of the trikes from the "A" Team from Microland landing at the Middleburg toll plaza before it was officially opened (15 yrs ago in 1998).

Sure is Ray on the right, and Hilton to his right. I'm on the extreme left (Glenn Poley) and that's an airline friend of mine (Brian Woods) who flies for Mango as a co-pilot next to me.

...and Mr Harley still flies regulary! :) ...still does a little "runway inspection" when inbound to FABA too.

Amazing pic's, we lucky if we even get 5 trikes together these days for a Saturday jaunt....and that's after nearly 2 years of building Gees. But...if we dont continue trying we will never succeed. :)

15 years ago i'd just finished flippin school! (**)

The "Novice" tag still firmly attached to my flightsuit is deserved....

I believe that Money and Time are probably the biggest issues these days. I struggle to fly more that twice a month due to both...and I am by no means alone.

Just seach the begining of the forum.

Remember seeing this invasion of Microland trikes on the horison and joined 'no 12 on downwind 'at a Heidelburg fly in.

Amazing; No I'm not in the picture, but was involved with the construction of all electronic equipment at that plaza for TRAC. You guys did pave the way to my flying passion though. (^^)
