Pre-Report Comment: Get your flying in BEFORE the weekend! Here's a quick glimpse of the week ahead!

Sneak Peak of Magaliesberg Weather for the Week Ahead: Tue 4 - Sun 9 June, 2013

Disclaimer: This weather guide is precisely that, a 'guide'! Use it, but question it, and always do your own research before flying! Remember that it remains the PIC's responsibility to conduct an independent check of the weather at the point of departure and destination as well as en route before taking off, by using official weather sites and official published weather reports!

Note: This weather guide is for Aeroden (25°43'30.17"S 27°44'23.90"E), a lodge and airstrip on the northern side of the northern Magaliesberg ridge, 6 miles west of the Hartebeespoort Dam wall - so PLEASE check the relevance to the area in which YOU plan to fly!

Pre-Report Comment: I've included Friday and Monday in this week's Magaliesberg Weather Guide for this reason: DO NOT FLY on Friday, but please feel free to give it a whirl on Monday! Of course, Saturday and Sunday are FABULOUS for flying! No more excuses about 'weekend weather being rubbish' . . . . GET OUT THERE!!

Magaliesberg Weather Guide for the Weekend of Sat 6 – Sun 7 July, 2013

The winds-aloft graph above (third diagram) is 2000ft AGL, so the winds 'turn green' (10+ knots) from about 500ft AGL, then get up to 20+ knots above 1500ft AGL (yellow/orange/red zone)!

As I said earlier, quite manageable, just not comfortable for newbies!

I hope that this helps!

Noted. Lately I've enjoyed a sunday afternoon flight, but it looks a bit dodgy this weekend, so my flying will have to be tomorrow morning. Pity. I'm not really a morning person these days
John, I always check your weather guide as well as other reports. It's usually pretty spot on even for Rhino Park. Keep them coming (^^)
