I have done a grand total of 3 hours (duel) and i am already strongly addicted to WSC. I am learning to fly at micro-land, if all goes according to plan i will hopefully be finishing my license in the first half of next year.

Hello all. new to this forum. I'm a CPL with a couple of hours on a lot of types, even some on weight shift. Also a lot of hours in the back seat/ pax seats of many types. Enjoy reading all the forum topics, good to gather some knowledge from other fellow aviation nuts. Maybe, again one day, I can afford to pay to fly, and not get paid to fly

Ok - so you are going to fly to Tedderfield - there is a prize sponsored by Air Magic for the longest flight time to Tedderfield.

Do enter your plane in the shootout - it is for all - not just - out the box aircraft - send me a writeup and a pic and I'll put it in the electronic mag

PLEASE: Send info to nemo@webo.co.za

Hi Jacbot, We got two things in common: 1) Aviation nut. - I started flying in 1966 and I am now a retired Airline Captain.... and I still can't get enough of flying. 2) Not getting paid to fly.- I can see myself in the near future standing at a street intersection with a banner that says: "Spent my whole pension on flying. Please donate money for petrol."

Regards.

Re:Sadly Sold Storch - Now What?

Postby Storch Driver » Wed Jan 30, 2013 9:49 pm

Here is my 2 cents worth.
Own an Aeroprakt A20 and that just sold, and just bought late Rob Mirtle's Storch.
Unfortunately my wife cannot manage the climb into such a high cockpit, so just sold that as well after one short ferry flight .
Pretty much heartbroken as she is a lovely little machine.

Looking at Nick Louw's Kitfox now or the Bushbaby ZU-BIG.
Still worried that my wife will not be able to climb into those either with her medical condition, and so I am now looking for a two seat (or at worst I will settle for a single seat) American Aerolites Falcon.

A Cheetah I think is still one of the easiest aircraft to climb in and out of....

You slide your backside in and the same way out.... even easier if it does not have spats on

Thanks John, I just feel a Cheetah is the spam can of microlights!
Looking for something more esoteric, and preferably a taildragger.
I loved the little Teddy, click even if it had enough adverse aileron drag to scare you in a tight turn with no bottom rudder!

Eina... when I go to the hangar again, I'll have to share your sentiments with my cheetah.... I wonder what CXO will have to say about that

Please forgive me if this has been posted before or doesn't belong in this thread. Is there anyone here who flies from Nylstroom or who knows of a Microlight club in or near Nylstroom?
For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.

Judging by the response I guess there are nobody who can help in Nylstroom..
Potgietersrus has a lot of trikers and an active club where you can get training aswell.
You can Contact 'Nicow' via the forum.. He should know better.

Thanks Blue Max

I will contact them. I will be leaving my Trike on the farm so i don't need hanger space. It would have been nice to know that there are other "flyers" nearby to keep in contact with and organize possible trips. I heard that there might be some microlight flyers in Naboom.
