See pic can you please point it out?

Thanks!

Hi,

The information is from one of my airfields books. If you want to confirm the info the contact details were also given, “Lourens van Niewenhuizen”, 013-282-8636, 013-262-3602, fax: 013-243-2179, e-mail: vniewlj@telkom.co.za. The condition of the runways are good and there are two, 13-31 480x10 dirt and 04-22 280 dirt. Position is given as S 25 15.240’ E029 29.540, 30 km from Stoffberg and 33 km from Groblersdal. Radio is 122.4 Mhz. ##

In general, any map, book or software (Google Earth, AirNav Pro etc.) should never be used as a sole source for navigation or other planning for flying. puff It is, and always will be the PIC full responsibility to verify all information that is used for the flight planning and the flying. The only airfields that the PIC can “count” on with a reasonable amount of certainty are the registered airfields. These are periodically inspected by the CAA for worthiness. Therefore during an unplanned alternative destination selection it will always be safer to choose a registered airfield. Therefore, if you are planning a route and you intend to use unregistered, “bush”, airfields make sure they still exist and what the condition is. In any event, most unregistered airfields are private and require prior permission to use them. In doing this, you can find out the condition.

Flying microlights and other LSA aircraft allows us to land on very short runways. This puts us in the position to use “bush” runways, but this comes with many dangers as they do not have to conform to any CAA requirements.

Plan your trip thoroughly but be flexible and always, safety first. (-)

Ant, that is the only way you can be 100% sure. You could also phone registered airfields in the area or contact pilots that frequent that airspace. In any event, as it is a Private strip, you have to contact the owner. (^^)

Cheers
Paul.

Guys, after consultation with a fellow "Die Hard", I will be planning all future Microland "Episodes" so that they do not clash with our regular Monthly Braai's on the 3rd Sat of the month.
Will probably do them the week after in future as it seems that they are well attended and will be regular occurences from now on.... (!!)

Our Monthly Braaing in the rain and wind is a special tradition that MUST NOT be jeopardised! puff  Now we will have two events to look forward to. (!!)

We need to have a bit of a "meeting" at next months Fly and Braai (Feb 16th) as we have lots to discuss and plan...please make sure you guys are there ##

Gonna miss my aerie this weekend :( ....go fly somewhere cool for me! ^ Why not wake up the Nudist camp (near Steve Bosch runway) for a change??

I found a GARMIN GPS at FABA.

To claim the GARMIN you need to do the following:
Call me on 0h ate 2 ate 2 ate ate 6 zero 9 (Faizel)
Identify the GARMIN for me (type of GARMIN, serial number, 1 favorite place, other identification items on the GARMIN)

Hi Faiz, if it was on my aerie it is mine

Wonder how someone can lose his GPS. Luckily it didn't happen in flight (**) (**)

I once put my GPS in my Icarus flight suit's leg pocket and while walking from the hangar to the clubhouse it fell out (luckily not in flight eish)

I suspect this was taxiing to the hangars and it just fell off.
