He he he!

Troy's B day party will prob be on the 14th so I'm out in any case. :(

Why dont you guys Fly to Blue Max in the Afternoon on the 13th...then you can attend the AGM as well Asterix? Perhaps you will get more insight into what the ARO does....or the "beaurocrats" as you call them.
I am happy to arrange a Braai on the 12th in the evening for the pilots....sleep over then fly to FAKT in the morning? Sounds Festive (^^)
It's a pity. Guess I'll just shoot straight through. I don't need dem speeches by dem beaurocrats. I'll just fly the last leg of my X country flying holiday while you guys argue out the politics.. ($$) ($$) ($$) :

Oh well....I tried   ^ Cant please everybody....and I wont be drawn into a pro Misasa debate here ^

Oom Paul, just like James (who is mocking us but actually misses us baie  ), an honarary member you shall always be. We hope you will be able to attend one of our gatherings when you are in town (^^) You must be really sick of Maple trees by now? Enjoy the rest of your Canadian Expedition...must be getting chilly there as you get into autumn?

Microland had a very active club going for a number of years. They did Port Edward rallies and all sorts. They had a listed membership, a website, paid membership fees...the works. For various (some tragic) reasons ERMF did not survive. The airfield became rather dormant. Fact is there are about 100 aircraft at ML...some say 65 ...in theory , if we take the bigger number, that's about 5% of MISASA's "potential" membership nationwide at one little strip! Yes, the sad reality tied into this fact is that at least 50% of those are in a slow state of decay and decomposition. :( People driving past on the R50 dont see an airfield, they see a little "paved stripe" with a few shed's next to it....if you brake too late you'll miss it!
What I and many others see, is about 4 Hectares of prime aviation passion. (^^)

I dont want to start an "Official Club". With club's comes politic's and admin. All we are trying to do is get as many of these guys and girls together (every 3rd Sat of the month) to meet and greet and share their adventure's over a braai and some festive cheer. (^^) I'm hoping that the number of Microland attendees will grow every month...and judging by the responce so far this IS happening. Wives, kids, and friends welcome of course. Slowly we will get pilot's from other airfields to join us...(we had a chap from Spring's there last month vhpy ). No politic's, no membership fees, just good fun. 8)

Watch this space...in the next few months, the lectures will start too. First one is going to be a cracker, open to all WCM pilots! (but... I'm not going to spoil the surprise ^ )

To respond to my dear friend James....nee ou boet....die mense is nie te bang nie. You will find that most of them are just too poor and short of flexi time. ^ The cross countries will come, of this I have no doubt. Die "gees" moet eers in plek wees. As for me...I would love, now that "The Beautiful Dawn" is up after the mishap to join on all these little venture's but the budget and the mind is focussed on only one thing at this point in time..... I must go take a pee in the sea at Alexander Bay ^ (!!) vhpy
I got up early today to converse with the Weather God's.....they told me to sleep late.  :( Yesterday was the first day of Spring...bring on the good weather please!!!! vhpy

Catch you later boyz (^^)

You'll see on your MISASA GM Kittyhawk thread that I'll try and be there. Even though I HATE the regulations applicable to every part of my life!

Sal jy vir my slaapplek / hangarage reel?

I've learnt by now, as I open my front door...if there's dew on the Izuzu...the mist is a definite.

Wind was fine, got up for about 20 min and then that horrible white blanket first swallowed the tower, then the sheds on downwind and yes, by that time we were all on finals for a full stop. Another hour on the ground and I managed to get airbourne again for a bit.

The Beautiful Dawn is now perfect. (!!) The new wing settings have put her in a very comfortable zone, bar in a good position, still climbs out like a rocket and steady in the flare. Approach speed now a little faster but flies like a dream. I await Stef's opinion but I'm really satisfied now. Sits nicely at 51 to 52 mph. (^^)

Nice to see Jaco there and I got a chance to view his new baby. That Cobra is beautiful, congrats and hope you can fly her sooner rather than later. ## Dont forget that next week is our monthly braai. We are due at the Zynkraal Fly in early in the morning and then we can all head back to ML for a lekker Braai. (^^)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend chaps, Later!

Nice Bundy! Glad she sorted.

My Cobra stalls at 35 mph you biscuit! It cruises 65 now, cause I moved the wing all the way to the front hole. Two holes back - 55.
