It's not everyday that I will have the opportunity to send a student Solo at a very young age of almost 70 years. Some people’s dreams do come true. Turning 70 this year Nico is one very dedicated pilot with BIG plans of touring the country with a microlight once he completed his license. Nico done just over 30 hours now and was ready for solo a long time ago. He however insisted that he would tell ME when he is ready to go solo. Being such an excellent morning doing the one boring circuit after the other with perfect precision I realised that if I don't get out of the back seat NOW he is never going to tell me he is ready. So, I ordered a full stop and told him I'm getting out now. I got out and waited for him to tell me he is not ready for this yet.... but he did not. Well-done oom Nico Henning!
Does anyone perhaps know what is the record age at which any pilot took up microlight flying? I think this calls for an article in our Magazine?
