Firstly ...My apologies for not posting as I was hoping that I could have got this one under the belt by now but, this was not to be, despite the numerous meetings and discussions that we had.

Col Sheperd contacted me yesterday to inform me that the powers that be, could not accommodate us due to safety considerations. Our speeds are not conducive to that which will be a requirement on the day, bearing in mind that high speed jets will be operating from early morning.Hence the decision to can the microlight fly-inn into Waterkloof. Added to this, from our myriad of approaching destinations( a la Zwartkop fly-inn) it was decided that this would create a huge problem and impact heavily on the day should there be an incident.

So!....We will arrange a separate Waterkloof fly-inn on another day when it will suite all parties .

Thank you very much for trying to arrange this, as well as both FASK fly ins so far! Makes sense not to have 50 plus trikes sharing a busy circuit with grippens and bigger stuff!

I can tell you from just a country airshow the safety officers / program director /display pilots and to a lesser extent the atc take exeption to any deviating from the program and get highly pissed off if 'recreational aerries' disrupt proceedings whilst the display pilots are sweating at the holding point or extending a circuit.

Even if the organisers arrange departure slots they will use that time to adjust the program. I remember Big man cooking in his flight suit for over 45 min on idle and all I had was an ice cold draft to offer which I'm sure he would have refused.

It is true.. Bigman COOKED in his suit, in his Gyro, for an hour. Meanwhile okes are standing around him enjoying cold draughts! Here he is, about 30 minutes into his ordeal...
