I know Nicow meant it as tongue in cheek, but perhaps your right, can be taken the wrong way - deleted that bit.

Re: What happened to Sycamore south of Rhino park ?
All I can say is that Low Level did very well. He calmly called to inform me he doesn't have power, we turned the gyro around to get a view of him and by that time he was safely on the ground already. Swannie I think you are closer with your 6 seconds that it must have taken him to get on the ground. He chose the perfect field and avoided the temptation of going for the road with all its hidden obstacles.
I would suggest most aviators avoid this "bermuda triangle" farm as the owner later informed us that quite a few fellow aviators suffered the same fate as Low Level on that grass land. Someone, obviously very clever after a few beers, then suggested to the owner to put up a wind sock for future engine outs. Perhaps the fellow aviators also just enjoyed a few sunset beers in the grassland.

Again this just makes me realize that we can not afford to be complacent for any flight.

Congratulations Leon! Well done mate. A low-level forced LOB without damage is commendable
I suspect you will be flying a bit higher from now on, to turn the 6 seconds into 30 - and perhaps consider changing your nickname on here.
I look forward to the diagnosis of the problem so we can all learn and hopefully avoid it happening to us.

Sorry boys, vang maar n gly in my as ek knaend 500 ft minimum bepleit .
Ek weet as ek nou submit druk gaan ek dalk later spyt wees want ek trap dalk op tone.

Good man Jean tree. I must just add that no aircraft is better or safer than the other when it comes to low flying. Obstacles are obstacles. They face any pilot and bite when least expected. Flying low along the coast. This is safe and exciting until a kids kite gets tangled in your rotor. I'm just a woes! Its been an issue with me since witnessing Filips accident and the resulting trauma to friends and family to this day. Legally 500 ft is the minimum. Below that you are tempting the Gods and you are on your own. Ag nou ja...
lekker vlieg almal.
this topic has been discussed add nausiam and only surfaces every now when we say goodbye to a fellow aviator.

Hi Gyronaut
Nice positive comments again from you but I did not expect anything less.

The Gyro was standing in a field not burning or rolled over . No assistance was required
I was flying a Jabiru overhead,
I am definitely not your BUDDY
