Yes sorry you are quite right, it wasnt that bad.
I was down about 1000 rpm on max trotlle and it would increase slightly from say 800 to 1000 over the first 5 mins or so.I.e. I would always rev 5900 and it would come down to 5600. I assume that that would be more or less the time it took to get to temp on the belt.
Yes the drive would get so hot that a little grease would always seep out of the bearing (sealed)
We will see when I get my new drive, I will then be able to post something on rpm and thrust. Duck and myself will tie (well see how exactly but you get the idea) the plane down to a brick or two, place a trekskaal in series, and give her some carrots. Then well change the prop to my warp and see what the best is we can get out of that and then well change the drive and redo the whole thing. Im interested to see how much more,if any , rpm Ill get out of the timing belt set-up. The idea is to see at wich rpm a predetermend trust is reached and maintained. I think the v-belts will need a higher rpm to get there than the toothed belt. if not

if it does then ..well.....
