This is so sad to hear. I have had many a happy flyaway to Port Edward and it has to be one of the most scenic airfields in the country. The hospitality is unrivalled from the local flying community and you want for nothing. From hangerage, to dossing space to braais to loan vehicles to ferry fuel and buy groceries etc.

Hope that Munster is only a temporary stop Vernon and that something can get sorted at Port Edward (^^) (^^)

Gees, I hope you guys can get it together, and sort out the problems. Whatever they might be.
Look at it as if there IS a solution that just still has to be found as opposed to 'throwing in the towel'.
I know it's not easy and you are not being paid for it, but too often lately we are seeing airfields and strips being invaded and lost to GF, and we all seem to carry on and fly and land somewhere else.
For Munster this would be a real tragedy. (Looks special on Google E)
And I haven't even been there. But I can imagine.
A bit like the Zimbos invading farms and taking and plundering................Not nice
Good luck.............
For what it's worth, IF we can help in any way, just shout. !! (^^) (^^)

Thanks for the kind words Andy. At this stage, it is still temporary. We might yet have another getogether there. bWhen last were you there?

Thanks Grumpy.
The salution is there. My 12 Bore with AAA. But hell, I would then be in serious KAK.
No Flynn and I won't give up that easily, as I said on an earlier post. We love our spot. Andy G's discription, tells it all.
Thanks for the offer of help.
Regards,
Vernon. (^^) (^^)

Is there a SA Police forum there? Maybe invite some SAP to the field - with similar businesses suffering- around a boerewors roll and Castle with the offer of a flip to sway the political will?

If they know they can count on you it might get them to get off their arse and do their job.

Never easy. I'll come stand beat 1st week in Jan with a Castle, snake shot and sjambok.

Flew over in a C172 a couple of months ago but didn't land as it was a bit short for us. Last landed there with Paddy Morris about 10 years ago but remember it like yesterday. Beautiful spot. I actually pulled out some photo's of Paddy and I showering under the waterfall by the gorge there.
