A Polite Request
A Polite Request
I and many others love reading the different threads. However many people on this forum do not speak or read afrikaans. I get many PM's asking me to translate. I was born in England but I am heeltemaal bi/lingual/tweetaalig/ jy weet wat ek bedoel.
Please believe me that the afrikaaans guys on the forum speak much better english than their counterparts do afrikaans.
Spare a thought for them please. Otherwise mena kuluma isizulu, and I am totally fluent in that language as well. My guys at work hate me for it.
Sincerely not trying to tread on any toes but remember we have overseas visitors on the forum as well.
Hopefully this is taken in the spirit that it is intended and I really do not want to offend anyone.
Cheers,
Andy

The great thing about getting older is that you don't have to prove yourself anymore.

LOL Skin - let's not be facetious now and try and remember that it is rather painful to see a foreign mumbo jumbo.
Imagine if someone was to chirp of in French, Italian or Russian on here? How would you feel?
I think it is a very polite request and feel free to post Afrikaans - but be courteous and post the translation too

PS - the same applies for our Afrikaans and other-language members - if you do not understand ask for a translation or explanation...
