Thanks RV for posting these! It wasn't easy choosing which pics...

We did fly pretty ( ) high. I don't remember any planes flying over us - but then again I was looking below.

This was my first flying outing and consider myself VERY fortunate to have experienced such views, thanks Big D! :!:

Awesome pics,

I did a lekker 50 minutes this morning just flying around the vineyard(cabbage patch to the rest of you  :D ). The weather was absolutely divine, not a movement in the air. Tried a touch and go at Altona but there was cattle and guineafowl on the runway and Grootfontein had about 40 Egyptian geese. I decided to abort rather than test the frozen vs thawed bird though the windscreen myth. Besides a cow is a pretty big bird :D . With the cooler air resulting in a lower density altitude old AUKie climbed out at 200fpm higher than she has done in a long time. It was the riding to the airfield on the bike at 06h00 that was damn cold

Really loved the flying and missed my old mate CLU-less who has an eye infection at the moment and thus is not flying. Get well soon mate.

Saturday morning was misted in. Eventually it started to lift and we managed to get off the ground after 8 am.

Since CLU-less was not flying due to an eye problem, DH who is becoming an honourary Capetonian, jumped at the opportunity of being PIC and he flew CLU-less around for the day. We ended up following the Brady Bunch (a group of pilots who fly low and slow in a big group all over the place) out to a little landing strip just south of Malmesbury. Here we bumped into Ou-Man, who saw us in the air and followed us to the landing spot. We ended up having a nice chat before returning to Morning Star. Total time away 1h54 with 1h20 being actual flying.

I got to fly on Thursday, just to get some practice in, was very hazy and stayed very close to the field, but enjoyed every second as usual

I finally took the missus up this weekend. After months of listening to me talk about flying while awake and in my sleep and after having to endure me "flaring" in my sleep she finally experienced first hand what the whole thing is all about. It had got to the point where she was constantly nagging me to take her up and it kinda reached boiling point when I took my hairdresser's husband for a flip whom I had never met while the love of my life was reading the Huisgenoot in the car next to the hanger. What can I say, she is precious cargo and I wanted to be absolutely sure of my skill before taking her up and this weekend I finally did. Man, did she enjoy it. After the first minute of constant screaming she settled down and I think we have ourselves a new addict.
It was worth the wait.

Did a 2.4 hour Dual Cross-country this morning routing from Cato to Nagle Dam, to Wartburg, to Fawn Lees, to Balito for a cup of coffee. Then along the coast to La Mercy (saw FF and LM-fly) for another break. Finally from La Mercy back to Cato over Inanda Dam.

BIG PROBLEM -> when I got to the field I found out that I had left my Bluetooth GPS Rx ON since I last used it and the battery was flat, so I couldn't record the track on my PDA.
SOLUTION -> to prove to you all that I did in fact get each of my turn-points I have 91 photographs (approximately 227.5 Meg worth).

I will still put something together off EasyPlan and post it here as soon as I get enough time.

Now I have one more Dual Cross-country and then my Solo Cross-country.
