From Manual:
Battery:
To ensure reliable starting, a battery of at least 16Ah (high-discharge) must be utilized. A higher battery amp-hour-rate would be preferable. Cables supplying power to the starter from the battery and to ground should be minimum 10 smm flexible multi-strand cable.

Boach, I have just replaced my 'standard' battery on a 503 with a bigger one (size) not sure of the amps, (I think 18ah) and it has made the world of difference. Got lots of krag and kick, and cranks for ever if needed. For R220 from Tobie in our club. 082-4425331 .......... Best buy I've made after the trike. Only problem is I had to get a bigger battery box R240 from Solo Wings.
