The best weather for flying microlight
Which area in our country will have the best weather for trike flying? Although we do have very beautiful days in the Western Cape, there are overall not a huge amount of flyable days in the year. I would be interested to trailer my trike to an area with the family for some nice, every day flying. Is that possible?

Nelspruit en Barberton valley and you can stay in a cottage and your aircraft tied to your stoep .Pyramid flying skool and there is a great big farm for the kids.

I agree with BOATCH
Pyramid airfield in Barberton is perfect…
The accommodation is good and well priced with excellent facilities, temporary hangerage can be arranged, and a great launching pad to see the sites of the eastern trasvaal such as Gods window, Kruger Park etc and if the wx is not good, the valley is normally flyable
Go to www.pyramid.za.net (the website does not do it justice, but has the necessary contact details), by far the best privately maintained airfield in the country!
Cheers

Huh?here are overall not a huge amount of flyable days in the year
Average 150hrs per year, could be more if I did not have to work. Or if I could force myself to get up before sunrise.
Re: The best weather for flying microlight
Know of Springs manne van staal that average 50 hours per month or more.

Have to agree with Boatch on this one! Lowveld is a great place to fly! Good WX and very nice places to visit! I must say although I enjoy flying the lowveld, one of my best flights for this year was flying the "Wildcoast"!BOATCH wrote:Nelspruit en Barberton valley and you can stay in a cottage and your aircraft tied to your stoep .Pyramid flying skool and there is a great big farm for the kids.
