WINDLASS / AQUILLA FUEL TENK

Postby JACO » Fri May 08, 2009 11:29 am

Hi all. Can anyone help me with the fuel capacity on a windlass and a aquilla. And also what the fuel flow will be full throttle and lets say half throttle on the two aircraft. I guess there will also be a difference between 503 and 582.

Thanx

Hi Jaco

Alby is 50L as ek dit reg het. Gemiddeld gebruik die 503 so 8l/uur en die 582 so 11l/uur solo. Met iemand agter op kan jy so 2l by tel vir elkeen. Full throttle sal die 503 so 15l/uur gebuik en 582 seker so 18l/uur. Dit is wat ek dink inelkgeval. Waarom wil jy weet?

503 full throttle is about 25lph.
582 should be about the same. not sure though.

When I flew to Botswana with my 503 i was burning an average of 18 l/h fully loaded. The accompanying 582 if i can remeber correctly was averaging 13 l/h. Also consider that we were flying throughout the day and it can get pretty hot and we weren't at sea level.. Cool sea level and the consumption should come down.
I sometimes get confused............But i'm not sure

Hi Jaco,

Here is the data youre looking for. It is available at http://www.aviation-engines.co.za/produ ... s&theID=62 under technical data.
fuel.jpg
There you will see that max on take off and full rpm of 6800 you will burn 25lph. At cruise on 5400rpm you should burn 15lph. Hope this will help.

Try MGL, 0218551383, they supply the FF-1 that has fuel flow and level. They also supply the Fuel Flow sender. Practically any fuel level sender works, especially the generic resistive ones you get at Midas

(^^) (^^)

That is one good setup.

I got my fuel level sender at diesel electric. Works great.
