My ex wife the pilot

Postby zucac » Fri Mar 20, 2009 12:05 pm

MY EX-WIFE THE PILOT

My ex-wife started taking flying lessons about the time our divorce started and she got her licence shortly before our divorce was final, later that same year.

Yesterday afternoon I got a phone call, that she narrowly escaped injury in the aircraft she was piloting. Seems she was forced to make an emergency landing in Rotherham because of bad weather. Thank God the kids weren't with her.

The FAA issued a preliminary report, citing pilot error: She was flying a single engine aircraft in IFR (instrument flight rating) conditions while only having obtained a VFR (visual flight rating).

The absence of a post-crash fire was likely due to insufficient fuel on board. No one on the ground was injured.

The photograph below was taken at the scene to show the extent of damage to her aircraft.
She was really lucky.

I don't care who you are, that's funny!!!!!

You can imagine what a pleasure it is for me to be building a nimbus 2000 for my ex mother in law. My kids are not allowed to fly with her, built in design flaws you know

What I do not undestand is that with all the modern technology etc, why has nobody ever thought of adding a seat to the broom? Your arse must hurt after just a few minutes. I am sure something like a bicycle seat or something could have been modified or even using a pillow.
In all the movies and cartoons the witch just sits comfortably on that stick. Just does not make sense :?

Some time ago, I asked the same question while watching cartoons. My wife thinks I am crazy but does it not make sense? Why no seat? (**)
