Re: Damaged 582 Engine Casings
The reason John and I are looking for a damaged casing is because we got a 582 and some clown/s decided they needed the electronic pick-ups out of it. Instead of undoing the magneto to take out the pick-ups, they just broke off the flanged end off the casing that houses the magneto and pick-ups and removed them that way.
We just need the top half of a Silvertop or Bluetop, and particularly the flanged end. As its not a "load bearing" part of the casing I'm just going to cut off the flange from the donor casing and weld it onto our casing.
An older 532 casing will also do.
Someone must have some scrap casing somewhere?
