The 4 Corners
Straydog and myself landed safely at Panorama & Springs yesterday.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you to all of you who helped us and supported us along the way.
We couldn't have done this without you. I have got 48 names, from slabfish to slowpoke, mostly members of this forum.
What a great bunch, these microlighters!
For those of you who didn't know, the aim was to fly to the most Northern, most Eastern, most Southern and most
Western point of South Africa in one week with our trikes.
We left on the 6th of September and returned on the 13th of September.
Circled at all 4 corners.
Flew 5083 KM
Clocked 50.7 Hours
Captured nearly 2000 photos
Lowest maintained groundspeed longer than 10 Minutes was 32 miles
Highest maintained groundspeed longer than 10 Minutes was 139 miles
We aimed at maintaining our most economical airspeed 75 miles - 12.5 litres per hour
No incidents.
Even though the weather was really foul, and we were flying close to the edge, we still
knew the edge was in front of us.
We got enough stories to fill a whole book.
Once more, thank you.

Re: The 4 Corners
It would also be nice to get some sort of list on the "do's" and "dont's" on such a trip and the actual airstrips (with facilities) that was used........... just in case some other members of the forum plan on doing a similar trip in the future.
Well done. Can't wait for some nice pics.

Re: The 4 Corners
Well done lads. Glad you made it back safely.
Robert is it true that Straydog had to keep coming back for you because the Tanarg could not keep up to the GT
Its ok though, you have a much prettier wing.
Look forward to the pics and stories
