Bad news for me

Went to the flying field yesterday to get the plane ready and do the packing, ended up stepping in a grass covered hole and hurting my ankle badly, not sure yet what the damage is but it felt and sounded like a torn ligament, Will consult with doc today.

Bottom line is, right now I cant even get the plane out the hangar, never mind walk around at Barberton, I am considering driving there but I will still have limited movement so it might not be worth it.

Enjoy guys, PLEASE PLEASE take plenty photos !!!

Fly safe,
Rudi

Sal laat weet......

Edit 28/08/08 @ 16h00

Dit lyk of ek tog sal kan vlieg, die enkel is effens beter en sal seker more nog beter wees. Sal maar baie moet drink as ek eers daar is vir al die pyn (^^) (^^)

Looks like we will have a bit of wind !

Prediction for Friday is 12mph from the NW, a bit of a tail wind leaving Pretoria becoming a 8 mph ENE in Barberton, a headwind :(

Sundays prediction, returning, is 20 mph from the W, again a headwind, and in the Pretoria area it is 15mph WSW, a headwind as well :(

On Saturday morning there will be a mass "Dawn Patrol" flight towards Barberton, CC would like to get as many planes in the air as possible and we are also planning late afternoon flights on Friday and Saturday.

So, the wind will add a bit to the flight times, good, more time to enjoy the scenery

Fly safe everyone,
Rudi

Hi Rudi,

Sorry to hear about your ankle, hope you recover quickly.

Best is probably to rest it.

Kind regards,

Gunter Rostek.

We were there. Driving in friday night to friends in Barberton. Enjoyed the show on sat and came back this afternoon. Hopefully everybody left early sunday that had to fly back as the wind was HUGE from around 10:00 and my buddy says he can still some of the planes there at the moment. Apparently the weather recons the wind there is 44 km/h.
Whose Aquilla trike got damaged? Did it get blown over by the Oryx?. We kind of surmised that must have happened from the hints from the commentator.
I saw some of the savannahs there. Saw the one with the VG wing doing most the flying. Having looked at also most of the other planes - like kitfox and appollo fox I decided again that I think Cheetah is the right plane for a fat ass like me.
Must say that I think CC is a nutter :-)
Nuts about Cheetahs. Petit is the place.
