ALZU is a must pi(t)sstop for me this time round. Looks like a great half way place to land and do all the necessary stuff. Also, safer as the flight from FABA is then pretty much FTR , N4.

May I suggest that someone, like Rob McFie, starts a WhatsApp group for this classic event. s023

Howzit Flyers

Africa Cup is soon In about four weeks

The Theme for the prize giving this year is HILLBILLIES and PROSTITUTES. Lets see how sexy our wives and girlfriends can look. Some of the guys can be really ugly prostitutes too. hahha

The co-ords for Hazyview are

S 25 03" 00.0
E 031 07" 54.6

Field Elevation 1740 ft

Hotel Numbi tel no. 013 737 7301

There will be a small entry fee depending on how many pilots attend the Cup this year. I believe the Hotel is pretty much full but please do call them for a room. Willem tells me he has opened up more rooms by moving a tour to another Hotel. Great because we need the entire hotel.

Happy Flyin

Ladies and Gents sizes are available. The shirts are about R230.00 each like last year but better quality. I was a bit disappointed with them last year.

You can SMS me the sizes. Remember to tell me your name.

Hi Paul,

I'm also planning to stop over at Alzu on the way there and back, but I believe I need permission from the owner. Do you know who to get in touch with?

I first learned of the airstrip from Christo (on this forum) when I did the Barberton trip with the Microland guys, who told us of the permission requirements, but I can't get hold of him.

Paul, ALZU is open to everyone.

There is a no fly zone right next to the runway. See PDF drawing for details. PLEASE DON'T FLY OVER THE ANIMALS (Game Farm)

Thanks Christo.

And, for safety reasons, under no circumstances taxi to the petrol pump. Your spinning prop is invisible & lethal.

The hotel is fully booked for that weekend so three of us have booked a camping site in the caravan park.
Can't wait to see all the manne. (^^)

So far it looks like we will be leaving from Klip early Thursday morning with a stop at Alzu.
