Botswana air show is now set for 16 May 2015. Plenty of time to plan for this. This year the event was awesome and a huge success. Do not miss out next year.

Just please note the following. If you plan to go on the Saturday, note that FAPN customs open time is 7am but seeing that it is government, open at about 7:15 am. You have to be on the ground 8:30 am at Rasesa as the show starts 9am.

If you can fly the 90nm in just under 1h30 minutes, you can go on Saturday else leave Friday and be on time

As far as I know the fees will be waivered for the show like last year. Will see if i can get info and let all know

Hi Piet and others,

So I sent my application to the above named official, he had another official give me the "you gotta pay" reply. Then I sent a copy of the website to them and they apologise for the confusion and have put the permit application for me on hold "as they are still sorting out the issue of payments"

Will advise when I receive further info.

Botswana CAA replied today (9 April)

The matter had been resolved and the permit will cost P100 and it will be valid for 10 days from 14th May 2015 to 24th May 2015 but we can adjust the for you days if you want to. Am now willing to assist you on issuance of the permit.

yep, another update.....

So I asked if I can pay the P100 with my credit card, this was the reply

I brought the matter forward and they made an arrangement that will issue everyone permits to fly for Matsieng Airshow without payment, everything will be taken care of at the airshow airport. The permit therefore will be valid from 14th May 2015 to 24th May 2015 will that be fine with your trip arrangements?
