ELANDS fly away Weekend - 13-16 DECEMBER 2014

Hi all fellow Aviators. I would like to test the responce to a weekend fly away to Elands Quad Camp...Oom Polla's place, over the long weekend of the 13th of December 2014. In 2012 we had a great time, but last year we had to drive in because of airspace restrictions.

Spoke to the pilots at Microland on Saturday and many are keen.

Hi Rhodie. Fly out on Saturday morning and back on Tuesday morning. Some want to return on Sunday morning as Monday is not a public holiday. Work & WX permitting we could leave on Friday morning.

Great If you just want to join us for the brekkie.

The main camp (sleeps 12) and Bush-hut 6 (with two bedrooms) is set aside for the gaggle.
I will paint a 'Deck' on the runway for those who want to show their landing skills and earn a space in the hanger.

Thanks Oom Polla for all your kindness. I realise this is high season and yet you are catering for us. I think the mini spot landing competition is fantastic.

Ok the picture resized is not clear.

Elands Quad Camp is just North of the R573 on the Northern side of the Elands River about 22Km east of Marble Hall.
(For those driving, Oom Polla help here please)

Airfield Details
Co-ords - don't have any (S25.03403 E29.13217)
Radio - 124.8MHz.
Runway/Circuit - 04L & 22R. That is so that you don't wake the guests in the Bush Camp.
Surface - Dirt/Sand, 440 meters.
Caution - Ominous looking, insignificant (very green) tree on 04 threshold.

What you must bring:
1) You and your plane.
2) Tie down kit.
2) Your clothes and toiletries and a bathroom towel
3) Money!
4) Gees!!!!!!

What you should bring (optional)
1) A pax
2) Extra fuel can
3) Headache tablet/s
4) Dark glasses
5) Swimming costume
6) Torch/nerd(head) light
7) And for Bundy, a spare pair of underpants.

If you bring enough money you dont have to bring anything else except, for yourself and your plane.

With the help of Oom Polla we will take a ride into town and buy the supplies and fuel we need for the weekend when we get there.
