Africa Cup 2104

Postby Rob McFie » Wed Apr 02, 2014 10:24 am

Hi Flyers

Just a reminder that the Africa cup this year will be held as usual in Hazyview BUT THE DATES HAVE CHANGED.

NEW dates 17 July to 20 July 2014

The weather is good and more predictable at this time of year and the hotel can offer us low season prices.

Be sure to book your rooms.

Cheers Rob McFie (Competition director).

Hi guys,

Should we just contact the hotel for rates etc? Really looking forward to being there again.

Who all is planning on going?

Cheers

Howzit Craig.

This year the hotel is offering off season rates. Which is good news. You need to contact the hotel to make your reseveation. Gather your wing men and make the commitment.

See you in the sky.

Rob

PS the weather in July is great for the comp. I hope you bring your trike this time.

Rob, can you put a rough program up. If it starts on 17th does it mean that pilots must fly down on 16th? Also, with the last day, is the Sunday a full program, so pilots to fly back on the Monday?

Many thanks, John

Africa Cup program

This year because there is no public holiday and hence out of season rates, there will be no time to hold the navigation part of the comp. All the tasks will be held on the Friday and Saturday afternoon at and above the airfield.

Friday 17th July: Free flying and arrival of pilots by road or air. Be ready for the afternoons tasks
Saturday 18th July: Morning free flying. More tasks in the afternoon.
Sunday 19th July: Leave at your leisure
Prize giving Saturday evening.
The theme is Halloween vs Zombies so choose your side

Get the hangar mates.

So, Who is all planning on being there?

Skin, I take it you will be there to defend your title?
Rene and I were there last year, but did not compete... this year we will be doing the thing... Don't know how well, but we will try...

Cheers

I don't know where you got the info that the Hotel is fully booked because I just spoke to them and they have MANY rooms still available.

Also got his e-mail: "Thank you for the enquiry, our rate for the African Cup this year we charge R535.00 per person sharing Dinner, bed & breakfast per night.

Please let us know if you want to reserve a room.

Best regards,
Ullen"

So, make your booking!!
