Hi Bananboy.

My plan is to trailer to Bilene. Rig there and then fly in the area. From there, fly to Inhaca, most probably along the coast to Macaneta and then accross to Inhaca....shorter distance over water. Fly around Inhaca, and then either fly back to Bilene but if I can get my car/trailer to Maputo fly to Maputo and derig. I will then trailer back from there. The water crossings are 22 km and 31 km respectively. Flying back from Inhaca to Maputo one could fly all along the coast (Catembe) but that is a long way round, 88 km i.s.o. 36 km, and most of the coast is covered in mangroves.

Fellow Moz Fly-In Pilots!

I am saddened to announce that I am going to have to pull out of this trip!

I have just taken on two new contracts which will have me with my shoulder to the wheel over this period!!

Next time . . . . :(

Thanks to all who have contributed to make this trip a success!

Those that are going . . . . ENJOY!!! (^^)

Cheers, John

Hi all

Unfortunately we have had not choice but to prospone the fly in due to a number or reasons.

However we have managed to just get approval from the airports company for a 50% reduced landing fees.

We propose a new date of 14th June - 22nd June 2014.

What are the feelings for this date? Bear in mind that the 16th is a public holiday.

Hi Mozfly,
I have been eyeing this thread with interest but work commitments prevented me from participating. Things are looking more promising now and I am very keen to join in. I have spoken to Paul Mulder and the dates, end of April/beginning of May he has proposed also suits me and I remember that Leon de Villiers from Polokwane also proposed the same period. I would most probably fly there instead of trailering up.Looking fwd. to updates.

Hi all,

Gavin requested me to let all interested pilots know that he had just been informed by the Mozambique Airports Authority, that from the 26th April until the 4th of May all airport fees for our group will be discounted by 50%.

If you are interested in joining in the group then please reply before close of business, Friday, 4th April. We will then submit the list to the Moz Aero Club for the required clearances and discounts.

Additional to my and one other confirmed pilots accomodation I have reserved two 4 bed Chalets in Bilene, at Complexo Palmeirs, until Friday pm. If you want to take them, phone Justino or Alex on 00 27 258 2 825 9019 or cell 00 258 84 618 2850. They are booked in my name. The Moz CAA wants a collective clearance request and a clearance request must be submitted at least a week in advance.

Just a report back. We returned on Sunday the 5th of May from our trip without any hassels. Thanks to Mozfly for all his assistance and joining in in the flying. We had an absolutely awsome time with flying and scenery that can not be explained. We will be back. (^^) (^^) (^^)
