Eish, the headwind she's blowing too much. 28 mph ground speed. We turned around.

I just want to thank all that came to our fly-in. Unfortunately the weather did not play along but we were actually surprised by the amount of aeries that turned up. Pity the others could not make it but we understand.
Special thanks to Alanmack that drove thru to capture the event on camera. Hope to see some pictures soon.
Then to Dawie and his assistants, thank you, your Brekkie was outstanding... again...
and to Pierre for his radio information service. Also the other club members for your help.
and to Ian who took Marnus for a flip, thank you. Looks like he is starting training at Rhino next week...

Well done Kroon ! That was one mother of a breakfast.
Slow Jet (Marthinus) and I were the first to land and minutes later lots of 3 axis and trikes arrived. Weather was actually very nice, even though the upper winds were pumping. I cruised back "on the deck" (300 ft AGL) at 65 kts ground speed while Slow Jet, 2000 ft above me (at 6000 ft ASL), was only getting 18 kts ! He preferred to stay in the higher smoother air after an in flight injury just after take off. I will post elsewhere under Hangar Talk about the injury
