Bundy, surely if runway distance is your only concern, it would be better landing on 21 because of the 03 threshold wires ?

Indeed RV12...got my headings mixed up :)

They do land/TO on 03 mostly though from my observations......this is due to prevailing wind (usually blowing from the North) Late last year the wires directly on the threshold were dropped underground so it is not as bad as it used to be....but still 30ft wires on the southern side of the road to deal with. :)

The wires were moved from the north side to the south side of the road. Therefore moved from 70 meters before 03 threshold to 100 meters before threshold. Pity they were not burried. ##

Apparently no one has ever flown into them but, I do believe take off's on 21 are psychologically impacted thus influencing pilot judgement.

Savanahs and Cheetahs regularly take off from 03 with lots of margine.

See you all this Saturday 17th May.

After some consideration we have decided to discontinue the fridge. Our thoughts were to stock the original fridge but to keep it off site. Then to have a smaller (camping) fridge in the back of my Pajero. The problem is that the consumption during our fly and braai far outperforms the capacity of my small camping fridge. Dionne and myself will have to continuously top up the small fridge, keeping us away from all the fun. For those who still have tickets, you can swap them for what is still in the fridge. This is very sad but considering the risks and losses we believe our actions are unavoidable. (**) The profits will be used for maintenance of the Lapa. Thanks for all your support. (^^)

vhpy Thanks to everybody who put work into the braais.
I had a nice flight with my Thunderbird ( for the information of any prospect buyers) and enjoy good ML conversation afterwords with my friends.
Saw Paul and Dion,s pics of their Mozambique outing during the braai.
Paul, you can view some pics of the' Margate trip' on the' Events' chapter.
Also met Sue on this occasion.
Last but not least, came back home on own steam.! vhpy

To be honest i used 21 on take off late in the morning. The wind was quiet strong from the south west.Correction more westerly about 230- NOT NICE. Even tho i was one up!
