A few questions Air Hog...

Do you have specific plans for accommodation?
If we sleep away from the planes will they be safe?

It would be nice if we could meet some locals along the way!

Accommodation plans still in baby shoes. At this stage I have only set out the route to get an indication to where we have to look for accommodation. If some locals can suggest or help, it will be most welcome.

I already had a e-mail from Bert at Theunissen with a offer to accommodate us on his farm on our way to Gariepdam and he is also going to estcourt us all the way to Gariepdam in his Cheetah.

We are open to suggestions

At this stage we are 2 Thunderbirds, 1 Bantam, 1 Cheetah and if Rudix is in, I don't know what he will be flying.

A bunch of Cape Trikers might like to hi-jack this trip and tag along (**) !! The mismatch in airspeed from 50mph to 65mph will only seperate the fixed wings and trikes with about an hour a day - on a 300km journey per day 4 trike hours. Else we will look at it as a seperate group

Unfortunately, I am pulling out of this trip. There are too many delays with the completion of my Aerie. It should have been finish three weeks ago and I just had the good news this morning that my wing covers needs replacement as well. That is is another 2-3 weeks delay. Then I still have to do my proving hours and I would like to do at least 30 hours before a trip like this to see that all is sorted and running well. I cannot tackle a trip this long distance with a new plane. This will be cutting it to fine. I was really looking forward to this trip but have to be realistic.

If someone else would like to continue with this, you are welcome.
