For the second year, microlight pilots have been invited to compete in the SAPFA National Precision Landing Championships at Brits. You will partake in your own class, amongst other classes of "blik" aerries.
Except for the great fun we had last year, it is a very good oppurtunity to hone those glide approach landings and precision planning of your landings. All microlights are invited to attend this great event !
"Hi All

Hi Flyers!
As a regular visitor to Brits I thought a gaggle of us microlighters should accept this invitation.
A similar event at Krugersdorp would likely not invite us, I understand, so we need to set an example.
Come on guys, at least we can land on the numbers, can we not?
FlySafe!
Abe.

Goose, die vliegveld is oop. Jy roep so 5 myl uit op 124.20 vir "Brits traffic, ZU-ABC inbound from the South. Request your joining instructions". Die organiseerder sit jou in die circuit (10 teen 1 "join overhead at 1500") en jy val net in by die landings patroon.
Jou besoek sal waardeer word !
Soek my op, sal lekker wees om te ontmoet.

Re: Precision Landing Competition at Brits, 4 July
A very interesting day indeed.
It started with the first landing slots in the morning with a tail wind.
Then during the second slots at 11h00 it became a 10-12kts 30 degrees crosswind on the nose.
During the 3rd slot I landed in a 90 degree crosswind gust which resulted in a classic goose step.
The comp director decided to call the last of the microlighters landings off for safety reasons. 14 kts gusting to 17kts crosswind.
The results are posted above.
1st: Windlass Aquilla
2nd: Bantam
3rd: Windlass Aquilla
With the microlights we had a Beaver, Bantam, 2 Windlass/Aquillas and 1 Aquila.
It was very well organized and lots of spectators.
A day worth remembering, and at the same time a place to learn a lot of skills !
Will definitely be there again.
