Sorry but it was mentioned. I have now highligted it in Red. There are some Electrical wires on the approach to 29. They are marked with Red and White balls. We have requested the lowering of the wires but dealing with the Metro takes LOTS of time. The wires are very close to the new extended part of the runway, so be carefull, especially the low approach type of 3-axes and Gyro aircraft. Have a look at the Google earth picture, Use the old part of the runway and you will be very safe. The runway is grass all the way and in excellent condition.
Hi AIr Hog!

OK, so maybe a misunderstanding of the term "goggas"! In MPL terms "goggas" = unexpected lift/bumps/etc. on short finals!

So, my question really was: Is this normal for 29 at Kroon, or were my two landing days there just exceptional conditions?

BTW: I did notice that your sprinkler heads are recessed quite far, so one needs to NOT aim for the bright green circles in the middle of the runway, especially if you have smaller tyres!

Cheers,

John

Hi John
With reference to the gogga's, if there is a bit of a Southerly wind, you will find a bit of a gogga on 29. Also on 11 later in the morning, we have some potholes on short finals.
We are so used to this that we never even think of it, that is why it wasn't mentioned.
The sprinklers have never been a problem, not that deep.

Ok, Air Hog you win sir ! After our telecon and some arm twisting by Playboy, and discussions with Tailspin we will run a special for the Kroon fly in of a set of Nav lights for a flex wing. One size fits all. Three devices, Red, Green and White for the King post with all cables, fitting bungies, brackets, adaptors etc. at R1650,00 limited to 10 sets as thats all the material we have. Must be pre-booked though.

Playboy is Number 1

Quote Gavin after the Weekend fly in...if anybody saw him in the air.

"Hi Paul, Yea they were a real hit specially as the ATC could ident me on Finals.
I would say yes for the special on the lights."

We will also have our Led front lights available. These are now 1,1million mcd.
