Botswana Air Show 26 July 2014

Hi Guys

The Botswana air show is on 26 July and seems like it will be huge this year. Last year was a big success and they promise more fun this year. Camping facilities available with ablution and hot showers. Matsieng airfield is just north Gaborone and customs and immigration is available on site so not needed to fly to Gabs at all.

Anybody planning to go? I have booked my camp site and am ready for this I will be leaving the Saturday morning early from Wonderboom to Pilanesberg on to Matsieng returning Sunday via Gabs for a quick fuel stop and coffee as it is middle of winter and I will be making use of some liquid courage the night before to stay warm

For the GT guys and Savannah and SkyJeep guys, it should be about an 90 minute flip from Pilanesberg to the show.

How many has booked so far for this show? I am in Botswana at this moment and see advertisements all over for the show. Seems like it is going to be a big event

Not confirmed yet, I think we will only know next week.

+- R 1500-00 for ATF for a single return flight is a bit steep.

Officially, as of now, the Permit To Fly fee has not been waivered, as expected. Am expecting an official response soon.

Any news Leon ? The meeting with Botswana CAA to discuss the waive of the ATF was held yesterday , 2nd July.

From Botswana Flying Safari info, the fees have been wavered. Just file flight plan and go

Botswana International Airshow 26 July 2014 Matsieng Aerodrome

Yes, its official, the P1200 fee for ZU (NTCA) aircraft intending to visit the Airshow has been waived. This only applies to bona fide Airshow visiting aircraft. The required permit has still to be applied for.

There will be Customs and Immigration at Matsieng Aerodrome from 25 July 2014 to 27 July 2014 for a direct fly in. File your flight plans to FBSK and on handover to Gaborone Approach (128.20) request redirecting to Matsieng for the Airshow. Hentie de Wet

E.mailed docs for NTCA Permit To Fly Thursday and today reivieved my Permit To Fly.
