Barberton alternative? 1-4 September
Hi Everyone!
Since the Barberton (Bush Pilots) event is cancelled and many of us have already organized things to have the time available (1 - 4 September) any suggestions for an alternate destination? Maybe Pyramid or Battlefields? Any other suggestions?
A place that offers a runway with a mix of camping and other accommodation would be nice.
Fly safe,
Rudi

Yes, I have been to Pyramid a few times and it looks like the perfect spot! I would appreciate it if you could chat to Brian. At the moment it looks like 4 planes from Rhino Park that I know of.
Fly safe,
Rudi

Brian says no problem.
There are a few chalets still unbooked, lots of camping space, hot showers and a very lekker lapa.
He does not want to make an organized "event" out of it due to the red tape involved.
Pilots are free to do their own thing.
Some of the attractions;
Fly the park boundary from Kaapmuiden up to Hazeyview and back to Pyramid via Whiteriver.
Land at Bagdad near Casterbridge (Whiteriver) for a bite to eat.
Please call him directly on oh82 3378206

I agree, no official event, just a few friends flying in and having a good time, no need for all the red tape.
I will chat to the other guys and then give Brian a call, thanks for your help!
Lets do this!
Fly safe,
Rudi

Wonderful! Thanks, yes, if the weather allows it would be great if we can camp there and then explore from there. Hope to meet your friend from Germany as well, at least he will meet some of the localsKFA wrote:I have some camping spots for okes that want to go a bit further or if you guys stay at Brians and come on a cruise to Komati. At the moment it looks like 3 planes with maybe a fourth, 2 x Shadows, a Bushbaby and maybe a Savannah.
Thanks again for the offer

Fly safe,
Rudi
