Tedderfield Weather for the Weekend of Sat 9 – Sun 10 February, 2013

Note: This weather report is for Tedderfield (26°21'9.00"S 27°58'8.00"E), an airstrip on the southern side of Johannesburg - so PLEASE check the relevance to the area in which YOU plan to fly!

Firstly, the WEATHER RADAR for South Africa dd. 06.02.2013 @ 20h00:

Comment: High-level and low-level cloud moving up over the interior, which is predicted over much of Gauteng from late on Thursday onwards, including the weekend.

Saturday 9th February:

Wind: NNE 5-7 knots decreasing to N 3-3 knots later in the day.
High-Level Winds: No
Temperatures: 15-28C
Cloud Cover: Very little low level cloud about
Precipitation: No

Comments: A GREAT day for flying! vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy


Sunday 10th February:

Wind: N 4-5 knots decreasing to WNW 2-3 knots later in the day.
High-Level Winds: No
Temperatures: 15-26C
Cloud Cover: Yes, low level cloud, especially later in the afternoon - DO EXERCISE CARE!
Precipitation: Yes, later in the afternoon.

Comments: Not as great as Saturday but still a good day for flying! vhpy vhpy vhpy ##


CAUTIONARY: Watch out for the possibility of low cloud on Sunday, especially later in the afternoon!

Special Note: Please make careful note of the Tedderfield circuit as shown below!

Comment: Clear skies prevailing although some low-level cloud is predicted to form over the weekend, particularly on Sunday afternoon.

Temperatures: 14-28C
Cloud Cover: Possibly of some low-level cloud later in the afternoon
Precipitation: No

Comments: A GREAT day for flying! vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy


Sunday 10th February:

Wind: N 4-7 knots increasing to NNW 6-8 knots later in the day (note CROSS-WIND conditions)
High-Level Winds: No
Temperatures: 16-25C
Cloud Cover: Yes, low level cloud, worsening later in the afternoon - DO EXERCISE CARE!
Precipitation: Yes, later in the afternoon.

Comments: Not as great as Saturday but still a good day for flying! vhpy vhpy vhpy vhpy ##
