Thunderbird to Margate for Sale (Not for sale Anymore)

Postby Jandebeer » Mon Jun 23, 2014 12:56 pm

Hi the Thunderbird (618) ZS-VWL that did the Crosswinds to Margate trip in April - May 2014 is for sale R110,000 negotiable.

This is an excelent flying machine, i have done a hundred hours in it in little more than a year.

I am only selling this because i have baught another Thunderbird with an BMW engine as i feel i am starting to get the feel of the Thunderbirds and i want to do many more long distance trips.

I got my license in October 2013 but these planes are so nice to fly that my first "fly away" wasn't a fly away it was a "FLY AWAY" all the way to Margate and if i can do it, you can do it in a Thunderbird.

If you havent flown in an open cockpit before i can realy recomend it, it is the ultimate way to fly, the only way to may be surpass this is is to fly a trike and stand the chance to freeze your ba..s off.

The engine (618) is in a good condition and the ATF current as I will be flying it regularly untill a new owner can take it over.

Prospective buyers can view the plane at Crosswinds "The Home of the Thunderbird" where it is being looked after by Trevor Davies himself.

The lucky buyer might even be lucky to obtain a hangar at Crosswinds as there is limmited space

vhpy I can vouch for this particular Thunderbird , Yhose new sails and the blue paint job on the nose cone......blue pin-stripes and all........was done by me in 2005 in my workshop    We at the time replaced all the eye-bolts on all the control surface hinges, all wing to fuselage bolts were replaced. All parts were purchased from Trevor Davies.
