Hi Stefan.

That is stunningly sleek. The spats finish it off very nicely and the stripes make it look to go faster.

Do you have a thread where you show the refurbishment, what engine and prop fitted?
Is the colour different outboard of the wing struts?

I saw some pics of Avids in the States with spats, they look "finished off" as well.
Do you have that will fir the Avid?

Regards.

FMD looks beautiful OTT without papers is with its wheelspats also quite attractive . It seems the paperwork is getting direction. CAA was under the impression that OTT had modified Bushbaby wings but in actual fact FMD and OTT have identical wings and FMD was sand bag tested by the factory. This act was witnessed by CAA. I'm holding thumbs. Two recently pictures taken of OTT.

Today ferried the Explorer ZU-FOB she was flown from Loeriesfontein to Morning Star yesterday and I had the privilege to fly her to Grootfontein where she will be hangared for the time being. She delightful albeit a bit cramped for my dainty body,

Light on the controls very buoyant the wind was about 15 to 20 kts no problem landing and an absolute delight.

Today I took some time off to do something nice for my own aerie. After fitment of a set oif "Loerie spats", cruise is now up to a whopping 95 mph. Not too shabby for a 582, but then the prop made for this aerie by Oom Piet, is rather special!!
(^^)
Any news on the paperwork for OTT? ## ##

Air Hog I was on a quick trip with my youngest daughter and her two boys and Ystervark's son to Namibia sort of retracing the flight that we did with the Trikes to Namibia it is a wonderful trip. Regarding the CAA I am still being shunted from one paper to the other and it seems I will have to buy an airticket and stampede the CAA office I send detail and then I get the answer I must include that information in a new packet which I must represent. Every detail is with them . Any how I will succeed eventually. It is not easy from CT they do not answer the phone they tell me it is not their job to help me with what they want I must present a package of papers but what I must put in the package is not defined. On a lighter note I have received the new silencer boxes and the first one of the new silencers will be made this weekend.I have also made more refined wing pins that secure the front wing bolts. Instead of brazing the pin I used big crimps so not to affect the springiness the clip action and the installed well and fit snug and out of the way. During the building process the front windscreen had some battle damage and when I moved the fuselage from Loeries to CT a loose rubber strip made a windscreen wiper mark on the screen. Boet was down and I took the window out and with the old screen as pattern the new one was made by Boet. I finished the days work and with the help of Boet's "Softness" and some Cleco's and three pair of hands the Screens was fit in no time. There is beauty in simplicity. I have left the paper on till I have Mr Minn to put on right from the beginning. With the help of Juergen Janson I also installed new screen files to accommodate more ergonomical screens. It is so important to put the right info at the right place. With the versatile MGL you can modify till it is OK With the Pilatus new generation you have to accept it as Honeywell seems it fit to use. Their engineers also sometimes have it back to front.

I have had a bit of CAA induced lethargy towards this project but I have new fighting spirit. So I will show the new screens in a few days.

Cheers Oupa-G

Hi Oupa, just a question, why those pins on the Safari? The wings do not fold so replace them with a bolt and nut. Less drag than those ears protruding in the wind. my 2c
