Please do not phone me while I am busy doing the ironing........I may just burn me ear. You can do your own bloody ironing This aerie has been developed specifically with the Bigger, taller okes in mind. Self fits in quite cozy. Herewith some pics of people trying it out for size. The 2 guys works for me. Average size, not fat. The big Oom was so impressed, he also wants one. There is no other plane on the local market that he can fit into, so Andy, there is hope for you. This morning dawned all bright and clear, ideal spoeg en plak weather. Finishing tapes on, wings ready for doping.

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Thanks for the feedback OupaG & Boet. Cali & Slysi thanks for the compassion guys! Unfortionately I seem to have a specific effect aircraft - they tend to shrink when I get in....
Boet your nameless test dummy "Oom" is impressive - particularly for the guys with larger belt sizes - but I will remain cautiously skeptical until I manage to arrange to plonk my tall posterior into a Bosvark's seat. Note this is not at all aimed at questioning the assurances that you have given regarding the increased space - simply based on my past experience regarding trying on aircraft...

Do not despair there is always the possibility of a Safari II I told Boet we must fly the Safari and then we can cook out something new between Boet and myself between the two of us we do not have lateral thinking but we have radiant thinking.
Cheers Oupa-G

Are you sure you did not mean 'lateral shrinking'?Oupa-G wrote:Andy Cap

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Today we were very busy. The door windows are ready to be fitted tomorrow, and the cutouts for the door bottom windows have also been made. Self been kept out of mischief by doping the wings right up to the last final coat of silver dope. Fortunately the weather played along nicely, and the dark cold front mist clouds only started rolling in at sundown. No doping tomorrow!! Oupa G is coming here with a larney set of electronic scales on Wednesday, so by then the airframe must be assembled as far as possible, so we can weigh the whole dang thang and work out edzaggery where the engine will have to sit.
My Father was a car dealer. One day one of his clients accused dDad as "Being a real horse dealer". Dad smiled, and said, but at least then he`s got some horse sense, and THAT can only be defined as "stable" thinking.

Nog net twee naggies se slaap en dan weeg ons die varkie. For the sceptics on the size of the cabin for the size of Andy Cap is a tall order but maybe you will fit ek is self nie 'n kleintjie nie.

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
It is all looking great - well done Boet, Frans and Co.! Is the machine going to fly this year do you think? Looks like it at the rate you are going. That cabin is so big you will have space to fit a JETMASTER for cold days!
Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Los die Jetmaster liewersteafa 'n klein turbine hy kan jou warm hou en ook nog 'n prop trek. Hoe lyk dit Boet? Die Safari II begin al hoe meer na 'n moet lyk.
Keep dreaming Oupa-G

Re: Building the new Bushbaby SAFARI
Hi Oupa-G
So far the plane is looking beautiful. Well done to all involved. You are real masters at work. Love the veldskoene by the way. Had a similar pair and walked them until there was almost nothing left. One of the jokes while i had them was that the girls would bring their freinds, lift my trouser leg and say " CHECK ! Die' ou dra nie sokkies nie". Needless to say I made a lot of freinds.
You can tell the difference between genuine veldskoene and cheap junks buy the fact that your feet don't stink from the genuine ones.
Thank you very much for the loan of the trailer. I put it back in the hanger best i could as there was a plane standing on the trailer's origional spot. I will fulfill my side of the deal as discussed regarding Conties.
Please tell Jan that I still haven't received any DXF files.
Nou ja alles van die beste en groete.
