Morph and Gadget's EPH rebuild
Today we glued up Vliegvark jnr and snr`s wings. While waiting for the glue to dry we tackled Morphs pride and joy. Morph said: Hey jy moet starig maat. We hevent got money, ons eet net vis...." But I can not sit idle. Man`s gotta stay busy. so we started anyway. S` OK Morph, dont stress, you can pay me when you win the Lotto. The wing arent to badly damaged, couple of ribs need some attention. The fuselage does need a bit of TLC though, but not too serious. Looking forward to doing a nice job for the man!

Perhaps the biggest dent is in the Morphmans self-confidence. But he is a big fellow, he will get over it!! We took the engine out, and only the bare frame is standing now. Next we have to get everything 100% straight again. Beiing a tubular structure, it is reasonably easy to repair. About a 400mm piece of the left bottom longeron needs replacement. The front wheel mounting tube is bent, I might have to replace that as well. The engine seems ok. The spar carry-thru also need a little tlc. 3 Ribs in the wings are broken, we have to splice in some new ply. No big deal. LH tank leaking, will need to be sloshed with tank sealer. I will be in The Fairest tomorrow.
Have a nice one.

We got seriaasly busy on the wings. Mmmmmm. Some more to do that initially meets the eye....plus a bit of re-engineering. No warries mate. The Front wheel mounting tube defies straitening, so will have to be repaced. Will be done as soon as parts ordered turns up. Morph, how do I post a picture on this confounded new antichrist thing??
Re: Morph's EPH rebuild
.....And today we finished VARNISHING the wings. On monday the glues will all be set, and after some finishing off, we can start covering.

Re: Morph's EPH rebuild
Wings ready for covering, but we need to "slosh" out the tanks with seallant compound first.
Re: Morph's EPH rebuild
We modified the filler necks somewhat, now if you overfill (AKA "filling up the reserves" ) It will just spill over the top of the wing, and not INSIDE the wing! Hope you like?
