Safari Adventure in Bellville - SN 22-09-14 SAF

Postby Vlakvark » Sat Nov 22, 2014 12:05 am

I visited Kitplanes early in September for a tail-wheel conversion. I was so impressed with Stefan and his crew's work and professionalism that I abruptly abandoned all plans to build a Sling and rather ordered a new Safari Adventure kit. 5 Weeks later Stefan personally delivered the full kit at Morningstar in Cape Town!!!
And since the last week in October I have been doing nothing but building aeroplane. Possibly the most interesting thing I have done for years! All the initial building is done in my garage. The final assembly will be done in the hanger at Morningstar airfield.
Here are some pictures of my progress....

Decided to build 2 wings together. So I set up a set of trestles wide enough to accommodate both wings and leveled them with a pipe level.
